Nik is making a collection of studio recordings of the songs he has been performing at his solo acoustic shows. In addition to the ‘old favourites’, there may well be a couple of previously unheard songs as well!

Placebo are to release a cover of "Wouldn't It Be Good" on their new single "For What It's Worth", and shall be released on April 21 on CD, 7inch & Download. This comes after the band used the song as an encore on their latest tour and caused plenty of opsitive feedback from the fans.

Ref: to German venue tickets which announce "You've Got To Laugh Tour"...
He'll be doing a nice mix of oldies and newer ones but definitely not focusing on one album.
Nik was on Top Of The Pops 2 at Christmas tonight (Tues 30th) on BBC2. They showed his studio performace of IWLTSGDOM with a caption which mentioned he had celebrated his 50th birthday and that's it's 34 years since the days of his first band, Thor.
The previous night, Chesney was on performing TOAO, with a caption which highlighted Nik as the writer of the song
Confirmed, Nik will be appearing on UK national tv on...

The film BONNEVILLE (premiered back in 2006) which stars Jessica Lange, Joan Allen and Kathy Bates actually features the Nik track "Wounded". Not sure which part of the film it is played but it does feature on the film soundtrack album which was released only this year along with the dvd release.

Hi All
Wanted you to be the first to know (before I post on Nik's website) that "You've Got To Laugh" will be available to download on iTunes from 20th November. They have exclusive rights to the album for 2 weeks, then it will be available on other download sites.
And... I am so chuffed about this one....
Having been in touch with Universal, they have agreed to make The Riddle, Radio Musicola and The Works available to download with their UK digital partners. (TBC) (Sadly, I haven't been able to persuade them to release physical copies of the CD - but hey, it's a start) Universal have given me the provisional date of 27th November. So fingers crossed!

Nikography/Discography
Nik & I had a proper look at Gary's Nikography last night.... Oh my God...! It's fantastic! It sparked alot of memories for Nik, with regard to the people he's worked with in the past and he was most impressed that Demis Roussos had recorded 'Oxygen'!... (I do wonder why he's never recorded that one himself - great song!?!)
So Gary, on behalf of Nik, I'd like to publicly say a big THANK YOU for taking the time to publish such a fabulously informative website. I know the dedication and care you've put into it, ensuring you get it absolutely right and boy, have you got it right!!!

Don't know about smoothly, but we're bumping along... thanks!
Drum Talk has been popular. Nik's been pretty much glued to the keyboard answering the questions and doing all the stuff I keep asking him to do too... for example, his biography, which he's written as only he could... you'll not find anywhere else a biography on Nik like this one!
Most of the Mug Shots we're using have been downloaded onto the site.
I know the site is taking it's time, but we've been trying to get it together along with all our other usual commitments, plus getting album sorted... (need holiday)!

Just to let you all know, having had an e-mail chat with Mick recently, (I'm assuming he's mentioned this to all the admin & mods...) and I wanted this post to be a surprise for him too...
Mick has kindly agreed in principle to allow this forum to become Nik's OFFICIAL chat forum.
We can only thank Mick and his team of admin for providing such a brilliant, efficient and enthusiatic place where all can participate comfortably and get such a fantastic welcome.
We will keep the Universal forum running as long as we can, as there are clearly so many members on there and we need to give them time to move over to here.
(Mick, if you want to make this official and post this on the Universal forum and wounded knee.... go for it... Let's sell this baby!!!)
In the meantime, the relaxed way the forum is run, the posts, such as Agony Uncle Joshua - so funny! etc will not change. But I wouldn't be honest if I didn't admit that one or two little things may have to. Really promise it's not major things, just bits to keep this forum in line with the rest of the site.
If anyone has objections....????
